SMS opt-in & messaging policy

When Hank texts you, this is why.

Hank picks up the phone for service shops — plumbers, electricians, HVAC, roofers, landscapers — when the owner can’t get to it. If you called a shop and got a text back, here’s exactly what happened and what your options are.

Program details

  • Program name: Hank Customer Service Messaging
  • Operator: Schwartz Software Group LLC (operating itshank.com)
  • Message frequency: variable — messages are sent only in response to your own inquiry. No marketing blasts, no scheduled outreach.
  • Cost: standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply.
  • Help / opt-out: reply HELP for support or STOP to unsubscribe at any time.
  • Carrier notice: mobile carriers (T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, etc.) are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

How you opted in

You called a business that uses Hank, didn’t reach a person, and chose to press 2 on the keypad to text the shop. That keypress is the opt-in — you asked to be texted, and Hank opened the thread.

The opt-in flow
  1. 1
    Call the shop
Customer dials a business that uses Hank.
  2. 2
    No answer
Owner is on a job or otherwise tied up.
  3. 3
    IVR prompt
"Thanks for calling. Press 2 right now to text with us…"
  4. 4
    Press 2 (opt-in)
Customer presses 2 on the keypad — explicit consent.
  5. 5
    Hank texts back
One message with quick-reply options to book service.

If you’ve never called a business that uses Hank and you’re getting texts anyway, something’s wrong and we want to know. Reply STOP and email support@itshank.com.

What we’ll text you

Messages from Hank are about your service request — what’s broken, where you are, what time the shop can come out, and a confirmation when you’re on the books. That’s it. No marketing. No newsletters. No upsells from us.

The shop you called may text you separately (reminders, follow-ups) from their own number. Those are governed by that shop’s policies.

How to stop

Reply STOP at any time. Hank stops messaging that number. Reply HELP to get a real human contact.

You can also email support@itshank.com and we’ll handle it from our side.

Cost

Hank doesn’t charge you anything to text with him. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply — same as any other text.

Privacy

Your phone number and the contents of your conversation are shared with the shop you called so they can serve you. We don’t sell your number, and we don’t share it with anyone else for marketing.

Full privacy policy lives at itshank.com/privacy.

Who’s actually sending these texts

Hank is operated by Schwartz Software Group LLC, the company that builds the software. The shop you called is our customer. Messages are sent from a phone number assigned to that shop through our text-message provider (Twilio).

For compliance, legal, or messaging questions reach us at support@itshank.com.
